Technology and Transformation

Our Technology team deliver a safe, available, and efficient service to The Cumberland and our customers. Their work includes maintaining security, increasing user satisfaction, maintaining operating systems and cyber and data protection.

The team ensure that the Society has robust IT operating procedures in place which meet regulatory standards, with a focus on service delivery, operational resilience, privacy by design, and information security.

Project Management

The role of the Project Management team is to successfully deliver projects across The Cumberland on a day-to-day basis, reporting into the project sponsor.

The Project Manager leads the project and defines the governance structure and resources required to deliver the project. They are the interface between each project and the business area it has an impact on. The Project Manager holds overall responsibility for the end-to-end project and delivery of benefits and valued added.

Customer Services

Our Customer Services team provide exceptional service to those who contact us via phone and email. We aim to resolve their query at first point of contact as well as identifying other ways we can help, through the products and services that we offer.

Our team are committed to making an impact towards our ambitions as a company, understanding that actions today have an impact tomorrow. They help us drive continuous improvement in the business by sharing feedback and best practice across the team to help resolve issues and improve our customers’ journeys.

Intermediary

Our Intermediary team is responsible for managing relationships with key intermediary partners to support our lending strategy and are the the primary contact for intermediaries to support through their application journey, focusing on our Complex Lending proposition, including cases that fall outside normal lending criteria.

The team develop strong relationships to deliver an exceptional customer experience to our broker customers, helping deliver our targeted broker satisfaction scores as defined with our corporate plan.

Mortgages

Our Mortgage team are responsible for delivering an outstanding customer experience and identifying customer needs by understanding their financial goals. They advise how they can benefit from our wide range of mortgage products and protection products provided by our partners.

They also ensure the quality, competency and consistency of Underwriting is effectively managed and that criteria and procedures reflect the current economic situation, comply with regulatory requirements, and are aligned to risk appetite.

People and Culture

Our People and Culture team provide expert strategic and operational HR Business Partnering and Recruitment and Selection support to allocated SLT, Heads of Department and their Management teams to enable the delivery of business objectives. The team drive and influence the people agenda to improve business performance and culture through Organisational Development, Change Management activities and Human Resource Management.

The team also ensure colleagues have the knowledge, skills, and experience to fulfil individual and organisational needs and ambitions, and maximise performance and potential through talent identification, engagement, and planning.
