Once you have decided on your core cover options, it's time to customise your policy and choose the extra cover options that work best for you. Details of what is included and is not included for each optional extra can be found below. The information detailed below is just a summary and full details can be found in your Policy.
Optional extras can be added to your policy whilst completing the Uinsure online form or during your appointment with The Cumberland.

Accidental Damage
Included:
- Accidental damage cover which protects against sudden, unintentional, and unforeseen incidents.
- This covers things such as putting a foot through the ceiling or like or hammering a nail into a pipe.
- You can choose accidental damage cover for your building, your contents, or both.
Not Included:
- Storm damage to fences, gates, or hedges.
- Damaged caused by faulty workmanship.

Personal Items
Included:
- Items you take outside your home are not covered automatically for loss, theft or damage by our content’s insurance. If you want to insure everyday items you take outside, like mobile phones, watches, jewellery, laptops or pedal cycles, you would need to add personal belongings cover.
- Individual items have a maximum claim limit of £2,500.
- There is a single article limit of £2,500 but individual limits apply:
- mobile phones - £500
- personal money - £750
- credit cards - £1,000
- If you would like to cover items for more than these limits, these will need to be specified as ‘high risk items’
Not Included:
- Loss or damaged caused by theft or attempted theft from an unlocked motor vehicle or hotel room.
- Loss or damage to items used for business or professional purposes.
- Other exclusions and limitations will apply.

High Risk Items
Included:
- This cover is designed for theft, loss, or damage to individual items. It covers items worth more than £2,500.
- You will need to specify these items to make sure they are fully covered

Mobile Phones
Included:
- Mobile phones are not covered as standard for loss or damage outside the home.
- If you add personal belongings cover, mobile phones will be covered outside of the home, up to a value of £500.
- If you wish, you can choose extra cover which covers mobile phones for more than £500

Bicycles
Included:
- All bicycles are covered as standard for loss or damage from within the home.
- If you add personal belongings cover, all bicycles will be covered outside of the home, up to a value of £1,000. This also covers up to 60 days outside of Europe.
- If you wish, you can choose extra cover which covers bicycles for more than £1,000.

Home Emergency
Included:
- This cover provides emergency assistance with a range of incidents around the home.
- This includes a boiler breakdown, a blocked drain, or a burst pipe. The policy gives cover up to a value of £1,500 per claim. There’s no maximum limit on the number of claims you can make and no excess.
Not Included:
- Blocked toilets where these is another working toilet available in your home.
- Boilers that are more than 15 years old.
- Other exclusions and limitations will apply.

Family Legal Expenses
Included:
- This provides legal cover and support for you and your family up to a value of £150,000.
- It covers when making a claim for property or employment disputes, issues with good or services bought or sold, and personal identity fraud
Not Included:
- Any claims relating to disputes with anyone you live with or have lived with.
- Any incident that started before the policy began
- Other exclusions and limitations will apply.
- Where the prospect of success is less than 51%
