The Cumberland appoints new Head of Intermediary Lending

The Cumberland have appointed a new Head of Intermediary Lending as it continues its distribution expansion supporting brokers providing specialist holiday let mortgages and residential mortgages.



Grant Seaton, previously Senior Commercial Manager at The Cumberland, has taken the reins of the building society’s Intermediary team which has a specialism and expertise in lending to the hospitality sector, having provided holiday let mortgages for over 10 years now.

The building society has also offered residential mortgages to a select number of large intermediary firms for a similar number of years; however, it made a decision in 2021 to develop its Intermediary team further in a bid to expand its offering to the residential market.

As Head of Intermediary Lending, Grant is responsible for leading the Intermediary Team in expanding the residential mortgage distribution channel whilst providing the support network that the intermediary market craves.

Grant assumes the role with a wealth of experience, having worked at The Cumberland for more than 25 years. His previous role at the company saw him serve as Senior Commercial Manager for England and Wales, where he oversaw the growth of intermediary lending to the hospitality sector in those regions.

The Cumberland’s Kinder Banking purpose is naturally reflected by the intermediary team who are committed to providing a relationship managed approach to intermediaries with a strong support framework for onboarded firms.
