The Cumberland is delighted to announce it has joined forces with the Scottish Tourism Alliance (STA), the largest member organisation for tourism businesses in Scotland.
The move will enable The Cumberland to further support hospitality businesses across Scotland at a crucial time as the sector faces the aftermath of the pandemic.
Alasdair Swan, Senior Commercial Manager at The Cumberland said:
“We are pleased to be collaborating with the STA and are looking forward to working with them to champion the long-term success of the tourism industry in Scotland”.
Scott McKerracher, Head of Commercial at The Cumberland, added: “It’s more important than ever for the organisations that serve the hospitality sector to work collaboratively to support businesses in helping them to recover from the effects of the pandemic and to thrive once again. We hope our partnership with the STA will help us to do just that”.
Marc Crothall, Chief Executive of Scottish Tourism Alliance, commented: “We’re absolutely delighted to welcome the Cumberland Building Society into the Scottish Tourism Alliance’s family as an official supporter. Having the commitment of such a well-respected financial organisation, especially at a time when the industry is seeking to bounce back from the past two years, is hugely welcomed.
“The sector has many challenges still to overcome but there are many opportunities too. I am sure that the advice and benefits that the Cumberland Building Society are able to extend to our far-reaching membership will be very welcomed and will appeal to many. We look forward to nurturing a strong relationship with Scott and his team in the weeks and months to come.”
The STA connects tourism businesses, destinations, sectoral groups and other organisations to improve collaboration, knowledge and best practice sharing and to build and strengthen the voice of tourism in Scotland. The organisation is acknowledged by the Scottish Government as the sector’s Industry Leadership Group (ILG). Visit the STA website to find out more.
